Project Overview Update

Hey there everyone. First of all, sorry for the delay but we wanted to make sure we had all the details in place. Essentially, we wanted to roll out a quick update covering all facets of the project in at least some detail to give you all a more clear view of what will be coming when and where we are in the process of getting all these items together. We won’t waste any time here, so let’s go:  

Released Content

SURVIVOR’S GUIDE - Just a quick recap, this has shipped and folks are receiving it. PDFs are available for download. Damaged books that are reported are being reshipped. We’ve talked about this a lot recently, so we’ll leave this one short and sweet. This is projected to be released in October to retail sale.

FREE CONTENT FRIDAY - The revival of FCF kicked off in August with the release of The Passage Part 1 and has moved on to the second installment with The Passage Part 2. We’ve already have content rolling in for later releases in this line. You can currently get these on the Hunters Entertainment website, and we’ll soon be adding them to DTRPG as well!

HERO FORGE COUPON - In case you happened to miss it, we actually rolled out this Stretch Goal bonus back on Backer Update #20 in February! This is just a quick reminder as we wanted this update to touch on all of the components from the project to help give a more complete picture.

WE’RE ALIVE: FRONTIER - We didn't unlock it, but we got it done for you anyways! Season 1 is out and available on demand via Alpha. Thanks to everyone who has helped to make the series a smashing success. We’re super excited to say that Season 2 has been filmed and will begin airing on Alpha in October!

Pending Content

GAMEMASTER’S GUIDE - The book is now into the layout phase, which is obviously the last step before moving into printing and shipping. With that said, the layout process for these books is rather complex and takes more time and effort than a traditional format. We think the quality is worth the effort, and the Survivor’s Guide speaks to that nicely. We’re currently projecting that the PDF should be available in Mid November with the book coming along in February. This will mark the completion of the core books for 2nd Edition and will allow us to put our focus on future supplements. 

QUICK START WITH TRI-COUNTY - This update to the Quick Start Guide will feature a group of pregenerated characters and a small packaged Scenario for free! Those of you who played 1st Edition may well recognize the Tri-County Precinct Scenario. We are in the process of finalizing the editing on the updated content at which point it will move to layout and final release. This is projected to be released in October along with the retail release of the Survivor’s Guide. 

ARCADE MODE STANDALONE - This will be the most basic version of the game, released completely free of charge and compatible with the more advanced Game Modes presented in the Survivor’s Guide. If you want a handy way to get your friends going in the game, or if you want to be able to try out the game before you commit this is it. We don’t have an exact date projected for this release just yet as this was a supplemental decision on our part that wasn’t really part of the project, but it is still something we wanted to share some more details on. 

HUNTERS DICE (d5!) - The designs and specs for these are all ready to go. They are essentially just waiting on the other supplemental products to be finished up so that we can get them out, which is presently projected to go out with the Gamemaster’s Guide in February. 

CARD SETS - We’ve sorted out the specs and figured out what all the individual cards in each of the decks will be. The process of getting all of these churned out, which is not difficult but is time consuming, is underway at this time. These will then be printed and are expected to go out with the rest of the supplemental products in February. 

RESOURCE TOKENS - The designs and specs for these are all ready to go. We are moving into the process of having all of these produced. These will come with the rest of the supplemental products in February. 

PLAYER MAT - The final design for this was just finished up last week and is moving through the final approvals process so that we can shift it into production. Again, not to sound like a broken record, but this is on target to go out with the rest of the supplemental products in February. 

SPEW-AI 2.0 - We have a open beta ready to go, we just need to do a last few tweaks to make it available to all the backers to play/use/test out. We should have an update about this in the next week. 

STRAIN SERIES: ZOMBV & CHIMERA - Both of these supplemental settings have considerable development in on them at this time, but both are also presently on hold so we can focus on the core components for the time being. Needless to say that once we’re able to shift these back to a primary position they will progress rapidly. We’ll be able to better assess an ETA once production resume on these items, but as digital products don’t need to accommodate shipping for release. 

SHORT STORY - Jennifer Brozek submitted the completed story to us awhile ago, and we’re currently planning to release it as part of the Gamemaster’s Guide, but you will all get it digitally as a standalone early. Having already gotten the opportunity to read it over, we think this will be something all our fans are going to enjoy.

SYRINSCAPE SOUNDSET - We are currently in development with the Syrinscape team, but don’t quite have anything to show yet. However, our hope is to have an update for you soon enough!

So, there you have it.  A general overview with projections for the assorted content for the campaign. We hope this helps you all have better grasp of how things are progressing across the whole of the project and when you can expect to start seeing the various bits of content.

A Word About Shipping

The Best Laid Plans...  

Hello Survivors, we wanted to take a moment today to address some things regarding the product shipping. We’re fairly certain by now many of you are aware of the problems that have arisen, but in case you don’t know we’ll give a brief recap.  

It has come to our attention that backers are receiving their books in boxes that are too small for the product, and with minimal packing protections placed inside the box. This has resulted in a number of backers receiving books with varying amounts of damage: from smashed corners to bowed covers. Provided are some examples that our backers have sent us about what exactly we mean.  

Obviously, we view this as unacceptable, and we want to be sure that is clear to all of our backers. We hired a fulfillment company to process our shipping during this campaign, and we have made it extensively clear to them about how disappointed we are with this situation.  

With that said, we want to take a further moment to explain what we are doing to address this issue.  

Reporting Damages & Reships  

First of all, if you do receive a book that has been damaged in the shipping process we would very much appreciate it if you could contact us with the following: your name, email (the one used for the Kickstarter if you send from a different address), and a few photos of the damaged product.  

Send this to: [email protected]  

Once we have received these details we will be able to issue you a reship of the book. At this time we have contacted everyone who has reached out to us here via the comments and on social media to get this process taken care of and issue reshipments of the book.  

Future Product Shipments  

Finally, we wanted to address the steps we are taking to ensure we do not encounter similar problems in the future:  

First of all, we are looking into options regarding mailers presently. As a brand, Hunters has always put a strong focus on quality, and this recent situation clearly does not meet our expectations. This is the first primary step in correcting this problem moving forward.  

Beyond that though, we are also investigating getting our own specialized boxes for shipping our products as opposed to needing to rely on a fulfillment company for this. By doing this we will be able to better ensure that the packaging used on our products should keep them reasonably protected during the shipping process.  

In Other News  

Now that we have all of that out in the open for everyone, we’d like to close out this update with something a little more upbeat. With that in mind, here is a real brief reminder about some content related to the project! As we mentioned in a previous update we have relaunched Free Content Friday due to all of your amazing support during the Kickstarter Campaign. The first release for this, Part 1 of a 2 Part Scenario developed by our own Christopher De La Rosa entitled The Passage, is currently available on our website for download. This will be available until Friday at which time we will release the Part 2 portion. So don’t delay and grab your copy today!

Hello Survivors,

Sorry for the delay in getting an update out to you. We wanted to confirm books we're shipping before sending out a status report. But with that said...

SHIPPING

UNITED STATES

Outbreak: Undead 2nd Edition - Survivors Guide started shipping in the US yesterday! We expect you should start getting them within the next few days, up into early next week.

AUSTRALIA

We've sent the order files to our shipping partners in Australia, the books were sent out 8/10 to and while we haven't received confirmation of their arrival yet. They should be their anyday.

CANADA

The books were shipped out 8/10 to the Canadian Warehouses and while we haven't recieved confirmation of their arrival yet. They should be there anyday.

EUROPE

We expect Europe/Rest of the World should take longer - as this will be our first time shipping products with our new VATS #. However, they were shipped on 8/17 and should take about 2-3 weeks to arrive. Then they'll be proceed through customs and sent to the warehouse for distribution.

TLDR: Everything has left our jurisdiction, and hopefully people should start receiving books in the next few weeks. We're VERY excited about you all getting the Survivors Guide, and will give you and update about the other KS products very soon.

SPEW AI 2.0

In the Meantime, we've got a BETA version of SPEW-AI 2.0 to share with you! It is not dressed in any UI by any means - but functionally it should allow you to create a character at this stage. We're getting the last few details done and should post a link to you soon!

Survivors Guide

Hello Survivors!

This is an update ALL ABOUT the Survivors Guide!

Change of Plans:
After much consideration, we've decided that since the Survivors Guide is done. We'd like to ship that to you first. Once all the other KS items are complete. We'll issue everyone else their ADDITIONAL ITEMS (including the Game Masters Guide - Hopefully by the end of the year.

So GOOD NEWS, if you ordered a Survivors Guide, you should get your copy soon. Everything else should arrive by the end of the year.

Shipping:

So with that said, we've been given word that the SURVIVORS GUIDE should arrive in our US warehouse by the end of this week. We're hoping to send to start Shipping early to mid-next week. 

GenCon Pick up

If you happen to be attending GenCon, feel free to come pick it up at the Renegade (Booth #2207). We'll have enough for any backers, and a small amount for the general public.

PDF:

Hopefully by now, if your order had included the PDF's - you should have two emails in your inbox. One from DTRPG and one from Backerkit, whatever your choice of download. We hope you enjoy the Survivors Guide.

WORD OF NOTE: We went through A LOT of compression settings, and this was the best compression without losing any quality. It's huge (164 MB) - but rest assured. It has A LOT of elements and graphics, and used to be way bigger.
